The Gargoyle Conspiracy is a 1975 spy thriller about terrorists by Marvin H. Albert. Has a bit of a Frederick Forsyth vibe - the same emphasis on meticulous research and creating a very detailed realistic background. Good stuff.

An absolutely top-notch thriller very much in the Alistair MacLean mould.
