#ZohranMamdani is the first NYC Mayor to get over one million votes since 1969! Incumbent John Lindsay lost his (liberal, back then) Republican primary, so he ran on the Liberal ticket (they'd co-sponsored him when he won the last election).
Civil unrest drove voters to the ballots, & the "blue-eyed brother" won handily (by 7 points).
