When I see someone with a confederate flag, I say something.
Today at Ace Hardware, I saw an old man getting into his pickup with a confederate flag. I said something. I don't mince words.
I asked him what it meant to him (with several added spicy words) and he said he was just a southerner from southern Alabama, and that is all it means. I told him it was a symbol of hate and he was a racist. He said he works with Black people. He called me a racist (π€ͺ). I told him that his racist license plate will take him to hell (figuring this jerk probably thought of himself as a good Christian). He was shook. He yelled at me again and left. I was happy to make him uncomfortable. I hope I ruined his day. He had the nerve to smile at me like I should just calm down and give him a pass. I'm not giving that a pass.
But it is the hidden racists that worry me more. At least he was broadcasting it.
