Finally got to visit Ayala and #MakeItMakati's #CarFreeSunday.

Ayala avenue itself is not #CarFree, and the only stretch of road that was closed to motorized vehicles is the segment of Paseo de Roxas, between Ayala and Makati Avenues. Glad to see they kept the #bikelane|s, thanks to dedicated folks who pushed against a plan to remove them.

Most of the bikelane surfaces look worse than before, with many unpatched or unevenly patched roadwork. ๐Ÿ˜‘

It looks like @pinoy|s around #Makati will be enjoying car-free Sunday mornings along Ayala Avenue, and around Ayala Triangle for the month of September.

This bodes well for local communities, pedestrians and @padyak enthusiasts, and maybe a good time to explore what remains of Makati's #bicycle lanes.

This isn't the first in the #Philippines, and if memory serves me right, #Pasig pioneered it with their #PeoplesStreets program
