Where’s Basil? In Tavistock Square, London, visiting the Mahatma Ghandi statue.

Brown Bear’s Big Day Out is a story about a bear in a zoo that puts on a disguise so that he can escape and visit a funfair called Dizzyland. It’s about looking at people in depth and not being afraid because they look different from you. So Basil looks like a man when disguised but is still the same friendly and hero bear in this case once his disguise slips.

The story contains illustrations throughout the text. These are then repeated at the back of the printed book so that younger children can colour them in. One of them can be seen below.

I don't see most people being willing or able to #riot. And I don't see #riots bringing about ANY real positive change. Violence makes a #ProtestMovement look bad, which is why groups like #MarchForOurLives demand their #protestors do not engage or be drawn into ANY violence.

The folks who can't afford to miss a rent payment definitely can't afford any jail time or criminal record. And most people are happy to #protest peacefully, but will gladly turn in any agitators in their midst.

Violence plays into the hands of the #fascists and builds UP the rhetoric of the other side, giving it validity in the eyes of its followers.

#PeacefulProtest requires patience, but it never fails in the long run.

The tyrants always fall... always.
