Canva totally borked a #Spanish translation for a #k12 #school flyer. Realized it was because the person who created the flyer put words in the title in separate text boxes. Canva, understandably, translated each word individually. Oops. Good to know. New practical tip to include in future PD sessions.
I don't know a lot of Spanish, but luckily, I know enough to recognize that the translation was not accurate.
Talked to a couple of students whose parents put down on registration forms that their first language was English. Turns out, not so much. This happens every year - at least one or two families say that the only use English at home, even though they actually have at least one other language.
I don't blame the families - they must have a reason. But, I wish whatever is causing their concern was not an issue.
Last night Elias Manoel continued one of the most ridiculous streaks in sports history.
In the 29 seasons that the New York Red Bulls/MetroStars have been in existence, 29 different players have scored the clubs first goal of the regular season. Not one player (including Bradley Wright-Phillips who scored more than 100 MLS goals) has done it twice.
