Trump said he will request a $1.5 trillion defense budget for FY27. (Total national security spending is already much higher, blowing past the $1 trillion mark many years ago.)

Two weeks ago, I was fired in retaliation for confronting DOGE staff in 2025. Now, I’ve launched a campaign for U.S. Congress in Maryland’s 6th district.

Marylanders show enormous bravery in defense of our communities. #MD06 deserves a Rep as brave as its residents.

In Maryland, former Rep. David Trone has filed paperwork for a potential Democratic primary challenge to Rep. April McClain Delaney. Trone, the co-owner of Total Wine & More, deployed over $60 million of his own money on 2024 Senate campaign only to lose primary to Angela Alsobrooks. #MD06

House Democrats from states that Trump has threatened with National Guard presence voted for the GOP defense policy bill that further enmeshes the military domestically.

- Blue Dog whip Adam Gray of #CA13, in the San Joaquin Valley
- George Whitesides of #CA27, north of L.A.
- Laura Gillen of #NY04, in Long Island
- April Delaney of #MD06, an hour west of Baltimore

House GOP denied votes on all Democratic amendments to the NDAA, including on limiting troop usage.

Blue Dog Democrats Vote for Trillion-Dollar Defense Budget

The Blue Dog Coalition, a group of self-described fiscal conservatives led by Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA), largely voted for the GOP-crafted bill pushing defense spending above $1 trillion.

2:30pm UPDATE - There's been a change! A previously "leans GOP" counted race has flipped and been called by the AP: #MD06 has been won by Krone (D).

This changes the House vote count from GOP 220-215 Dem, to 219-216 Dem, with several outstanding races yet to have their votes fully counted.

For Dems to win control, they must win at least 2 of:

#AZ06 #CA03 #CA13 #CA22 #CA27 #CA45 #CO03 #NY22 #0R05

Control of the US House of Reps 12:00pm Friday Update

At current vote counts, GOP wins control, 220-215.

For Dems to win, they must win at least 3 of:

#AZ06 #CA03 #CA13 #CA22 #CA27 #CA45 #CO03 #MD06 #NY22 #0R05

Some are close; all currently favor the GOP.

Rs favored to get a very narrow majority in the House, but the path for Ds is still there and still very possible. It'll come down to finding those 4 districts in the last bullet point imo. I think Dems will finish somewhere between 215-219 seats

A narrow window.
