Murder in the Clouds is a 1934 aviation mystery thriller starring Lyle Talbot so it ticks all my boxes. Superb aerial photography. Murder and mayhem plus suspense and romance. Very enjoyable.

I #watched A Shriek in the Night (1933 US 66m) on #YouTube last night. Pat Morgan (Ginger Rogers) is a reporter for the Morning news, currently undercover as a secretary to philanthropist Adam Harker, who’s suspected of having a connection to mob boss Martini, who lives on the floor below. When Harker dies in an apparent fall from the roof, Ted Rand (Lyle Talbot), reporter for the Daily Express and Pat’s love interest, gets involved in the possible murder case.
The pair’s investigation parallels and intersects with that of Police Inspector Russell (Purnell Pratt). Then a couple on the floor above are found dead, and the plot speeds up even more. A fast-paced, fast-talking tale of crime, mystery, and romance. (Do ignore the version of the poster that gives away the killer’s identity.)
