Another fun fact. Tomorrow, November 4, the day before the time change, the sun will rise at 8:08AM local time.

After the time change to Standard Time this weekend, the sun will not rise that late again until the day *after* the shortest day of the year, December 22. The latest it will rise will be 8:10AM, the same time between Dec 27 and Jan 4, until it starts to move earlier.

If we were to instead keep Daylight Savings Time then the sun would rise (in this location just above the 49th Parallel) after 8AM every day between October 30 and February 28 and not until after 9AM during winter solstice/Christmas time.

Gross.
