During my morning coffee I took apart the Electrolux coffee machine (with timer!) I gave @juliette for her last birthday.

It seems well made for the price point and materials. No weird glue spots or brittle seals.

Critical custom parts (notably the glass carafe.. #LittleHandOfDoom) are available from the manufacturer. It otherwise uses fairly common parts (for the internal buttons on the circuit board.

I'm quite certain that I can fix it easily if something breaks.

Points for Electrolux :)

Ah. Thanks to having the attention span of a fruit-fly or even a US president we've now moved on to the amplifier. Less deconstructive, equally annoying ๐Ÿ™‚

We're happily in the small child zone of the IC carriage. It's less awesome than those on the ICE but still really spacious.

Toddler compensated the lack of a "wall based play board" by demolishing an armrest. Good times.

13 hours and 15 min to go!

A very different level of stress. Most operators of toddlers will know the fear when a delicate object is spotted as "interesting".

Here I'm in the hotel trying to photograph the little model train coach (a Dutch NS ICRmh) we bought for, uhm, toddler and me.
