ஒரு சிறுகதை

கடந்த ஓரிரு வாரங்களாக மனம் நிலையில்லாமல் இருக்கிறது, கவலைகள் அதிகம், பொறுப்புகளும் கூடுதல் கவனம் கோருகின்றன. எப்போதும் போல இப்போதும் எதிலும் முனைந்து ஈடுபாடு காட்ட முடியவில்லை. இந்த நிலையில் என்ன எழுதி என்ன ஆகப் போகிறது என்ற மனநிலை இயல்பாகவே வருகிறது. இது இப்படியே நீடித்தால் மொத்தத்தையும் அழித்து விட்டு மறுபடியும் முதலிலிருந்து துவங்கினால் ஆச்சரியமில்லை.

சுநீல் கிருஷ்ணனின் ‘பேங்கோ’ சிறுகதை படிச்சாச்சா என்று சிவா கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி கேட்டார், வாட்ஸ்அப்பில். கூகுள் செய்து பார்த்தேன்.

துணிச்சலாக எழுதியிருக்கிறார். படித்து ஓரளவு வசதியாக இருக்கும் டெக்னோக்ராட்டுகளுக்கு சிங்கப்பூர் ஒரு ஆதர்சம். எனக்கு தெரிந்து அதன் வரலாறு, அது கொள்கை வேறுபாடுகளை எதிர்கொண்ட விதம், இது பற்றியெல்லாம் பேசுபவர்கள் என் வட்டத்தில் இல்லை (இஸ்ரேல் உதவி பெற்று அதனோடு உறவு ஏற்படுத்திக் கொண்ட முதல் சில தேசங்களில் ஒன்று அது என்பதை போன வாரம்தான் தெரிந்து கொண்டேன்).

ஏதோ ஒரு ராஜா காலத்தை நினைவுபடுத்தும் ஊர்ப்பெயரை தவிர்த்து சிங்கப்பூர் என்றே எழுதியிருக்கலாம். அப்படி பார்த்தால் இதனால் ஏற்படக்கூடிய இழப்புகளை ஒப்பிடும்போது இந்த துணிச்சலே எத்தனையோ பேருக்கு இருக்காது. அசாத்திய எதிர்பார்ப்புகளை புகுத்தி உயர்ந்த செயலை மட்டம் தட்டுவது சுலபம், அது நியாயமில்லை.

உலகளாவிய சமகால அக்கறைகளை எதிர்கொள்ளும் சிறுகதைகள் எழுதப்படும்போது மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறது. இந்த கதை நல்ல கதையா மோசமான கதையா என்னவெல்லாம் சிறப்பு குறை என்ற பேச்செல்லாம் இருக்கவே இருக்கிறது. ஆனால் இந்த விஷயத்தை எழுத எடுத்துக் கொண்டதே பெரிய விஷயம்.
