I've played around with using #mylar to create #LightTubes, #prisms and #mirrors and other #reflective surfaces to change or shape light direction and spread, #Fresnell lenses to magnify small amounts of light, etc etc etc.

I've learned lots of interesting things but I am still a LONG way from being hired to light the interior of a #pyramid. ๐Ÿ˜€

Hm, I cannot find evidence from web searches that anyone has ever installed a solar tube in a former chimney / exhaust pipe. Is this a stupid idea?

I saw one page claiming that solar tubes work better if they are less than 25 feet long. Does the extra length running a solar tube from the chimney to the basement make this a bad idea? Could this be offset by using a rigid tube, rather than a flexible one?
