Hm, I cannot find evidence from web searches that anyone has ever installed a solar tube in a former chimney / exhaust pipe. Is this a stupid idea?

I saw one page claiming that solar tubes work better if they are less than 25 feet long. Does the extra length running a solar tube from the chimney to the basement make this a bad idea? Could this be offset by using a rigid tube, rather than a flexible one?

Light tube - Wikipedia

"I feel that the need to look at the #sky—at the #moon and the #stars—is very basic, and it is inside all of us. So, when I say my work is an exteriorization of my own inner reality, I mean I am giving back to people through art what they already have in them.”
