So now that #PuertoRico is once again at the forefront of people's awareness, don't you think it is about time to let the people of Puerto Rico decide: Statehood or Independence?
For the record, I do not live there, so I have no voice in the decision, but I would gladly support whatever the populace of Puerto Rico decide.

Methinks the only reason the current UK government is so opposed to a Scottish independence referendum is precisely the same reason they won’t hold a general election or a rejoin the EU referendum: they know they’d lose. This is not government by consent, it’s government by control — the very opposite of democracy.
