Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy/Ian Richardson, Michael Jayston, Patrick Stewart about le Carre's Novel

In Agent Running in the Field, Le Carré gave himself a variety of characters through which he could vent his anger at Brexit, Trump, oligarchs, the state of the world & its intelligence services: Ed, Florence, Prue.
The main character, as ever, remains more circumspect but has clear sympathy for the other characters' views #Bookstodon #LeCarré #AmReading
Enjoying the framing of Le Carré's Agent Running in the Field, where it's clear from the beginning that the main character has already confessed his sins to 'the Office'.
I did pause reading once I saw how it might all end in calamity, but I'm glad I picked it back up #Bookstodon #LeCarré #AmReading
So, we planned on binging S2 of The Night Manager, and rewatched S1 over Christmas... We're only 1.5 episodes in, and it all seems rather similar... Same sort of murder in similar locations, similar plot points around who's selling what to whom.
Perhaps we're supposed to think that, and this time it's not?

Enjoying my #MorningtonCrescent books… great #LeCarre short story in the Almanac! Don’t tell the Russian bot farm… it’ll blow their minds (also, couple of good recipes to please the #LenDeighton fans!)
Thanks to Steve Metcalf for the #LeCarre shout-out on the latest Slate Culture Gabfest, re-reading Spy Who Came in from the Cold at my suggestion. End of episode, '

Fantastic Four: First Steps resuscitates one of Marvel’s most doomed IPs.

Is it clobbering time for Marvel again? Fantastic Four: First Steps attempts to breathe new life into the super quartet.

I discovered this dark novel about the CIA's secret LSD tests on the latest #LeCarre Cast, a discussion of Constant Gardener with host Jeff Quest and author Scott O'Connor.

Engrossing book, great characters, thought-provoking, thoroughly enjoyable.
There are a few stereotypes, and it is a bit dated, but still great.

Okay, playing next - Episode 2 of The Night Manager.
They are sooo good at building suspense.
And genius move having Olivia Colman playing Angela Burr as 'Leonard' character (who I've been referring to as 'Larry' causing much confusion.🤔 😆)
My only complaint about Le Carré is the lack of women in his novels, ignoring 51% of the world population. Otherwise I can reread/rewatch any Le Carré many, many times.
