#tatting has been such a great stim the last several days, i just fkn love how the thread feels, and im growing to love how my mistakes are immortalized in it and the metaphor for life that represents
It used to be deeply distressing for me but i think that might have been learned, bc the more i tat, the less distressing the mistakes become, and paradoxically, the fewer i make and the faster i progress ✨

I did it! I haven't even posted it to the blog yet- but I designed my first successful piece of Teneriffe lace!
I made one other piece first and it looks goofy as heck, but I learned so much from that which I didn't learn from kits and BAM.

I bought my #schwibbogen before I was a #lacemaker, and of course am now kicking myself. I could have had the #lace pillow one. Someday....
Here is the #BobbinLace one, with the toy maker, and what I presume is a gay couple in the center, via Wikimedia Commons.
GASP: this Naaikussen "#sewing cushion" is divine. And it turns out Grace is a CAD designer and woodworker besides being a #lacemaker. She re-created the historical cushion and provides the plans for other people to follow [link to her PDF there].
They have fabric covers and are padded arc shapes on the outside, but the center is a hinged compartment with little storage cubbies.
