Inhaled #Amikacin in high risk patients reduces VAP, but would it cause more #AKI
Interestingly - risk of AKI is halved w/ amikacin!
- less pneumonia = less AKI?
- inhaled Amikacin is probably not nephrotoxic as well!

Joanna PooleHave lots of threads to do but watching #ESICM latest research propafenone vs amiodarone for AF in sepsis - seems to be faster, as safe, and with les breakthrough AF, no higher harm signal. Amio better for dilated LA, propa better for non dilated. Previous non RCTs suggest twelve month mortality better in propa #criticalcare #LIVES2023
So oxygen delivery even in tissues is not a problem in sepsis, they won’t increase oxygen consumption even when it’s there (and it is) #ESICM #LIVES2023
This means people are adding fludrocortisone to hydrocortisone in refractory shock #ESICM #LIVES2023
