I think my next few home automation projects are going to be Vivid (the annual light&music festival in Sydney) inspired.

My reaction after last year's trip was to make my living room string lights show random animations when not in use.

This year I have the excess compute to use LedFx with all my different neopixel gadgets, and I wrote a bash script to activate it when MPD plays an album with the genre "Electronic" after dark.

Next idea is to find a cheap mini-projector, and get it to run Milkdrop visualisations on my walls and ceiling.
