While at the Koko Crater Botanical Garden, I often saw people climbing up the Koko Head Trail.

That trail is a 1,000+ railway tie steps climb. It does provide a fabulous vantage for views of Oahu.

As you can see, it is teeming with people. Much unlike the botanical garden. I ran in to few people during the two hours I spent along the garden paths.

Koko Crater Botanical Garden rests in a volcanic crater. The garden was set aside for development in 1958.

It preserves rare, endangered dryland plants from around the world. That includes species from the Americas and Africa (with a section specifically for the plants of Madagascar).
