One more from this morning. Beside the Kali Gandaki River the pilgrims set fire to candles and make offerings to their gods. I am not a religious person at all, but I do find it fascinating the detail and passion that goes into such fevered devotion.

The floods from a few months ago have devastated a significant part of Kagbeni. A scar runs through the middle of town where once the little feet of goats where to be heard. The monks have left for the winter and hopefully a new housing block can be built to replace the one they lost.
