Mastering GPG Keys - 0hlov3 - Medium

In the digital age, safeguarding your data and verifying your identity online are more critical than ever. GNU Privacy Guard (GPG) offers a robust solution for these needs through encryption and…

- Some (common) customisations I've done other than my usual theme customisations to the desktop include installing the #Fish shell which is much friendlier than #Bash, setting up #Timeshift for scheduled snapshots, and themed Grub for something prettier.

- Also used this opportunity to test some things out including finally figuring out a better way of integrating
#KDEWallet which now works also with #SSH and #GPG passphrases, setting #Zram up in place of regular Swap which is supposedly the "play" these days for maximum memory efficiency, and switching to the LTS kernel for better stability (though I've never had any issue staying on the main kernel on EndeavourOS before).

Conclusion:

All in all, I'm super happy with my choice and the experience running EndeavourOS and KDE Plasma on the old MacBook Air which is giving it a fresh new breath of life. My only issue with it now is that it was meant to be the "Family Computer" but now I genuinely couldn't take my hands off it and
MUCH prefer it over my M1 MacBook Air which is supposed to be better in every single way BESIDES macOS alone. Please god let me run EndeavourOS on my #Apple Silicon Mac someday without losing any hardware features (and software compatibility). Always keeping an eye on the #AsahiLinux project.

I'm linking below my Linux "Wiki" where I document stuffs/modifications I do for all my desktops.

KDE wallet is very annoying

#kde #kdewallet

Playing around with #salt on #plantuml to write #wireframes out of boredom. Had been aware, but not really tried my hand at this stuff - it is pretty convenient.

I do have a shell script wrapper at the moment that I've been using locally to automount/unmount my #gocryptfs and #cryfs folders while storing the passwords in #kdewallet. I'd like to convert that to a #python UI (I'm not proficient in python or GUI design). Been reading up in my spare time on #qtquick #qml etc.

#kdewallet suffered from the same problem that already led to 'split jar' problems in another software. This is fixed with #release 1.3.0.

Release 1.3.0 Β· purejava/kdewallet

Update to dbus-java 4.3.0 Add module-info.java to avoid 'split jar' problems Update maven dependencies ⚠️ The naming of the some packages changed.

even with a fresh debian installation, removing all kdewallet packages i've found.. 😩

Right, think I've recovered from my adventures with #KDEWallet most of my stuff is back working again. That #akonadi thing is a right nuisance!
