My fellow came at the end of one of my San Francisco business trips & we headed north along HWY 1. The weather was cool & rainy for much of it, so one day, we decided to trade in the wet, grey beaches (still fabulous) for the hills. If you get motion sick, take an anti-nauseant when heading up to Montgomery Woods. I thinks it's harder on the stomach than parts of the 1. So many twists and turns, but, as you see, spectacular.

A bit of trivia I learned: bite force of a polar bear is 1200psi. Compare with the measly human value of 120-160psi. Don't get in a chomping battle with a polar bear. ๐
I've been taking photos of this log cabin since before its windows were boarded up due to vandalism & the door became used for initials.
There is a marker beside it giving some history, though apparently the history isn't entirely correct. Its date of 1760 seems to need adjusting into the 1800s and while it has been called the Osterhout cabin, Osterhout was tracked down to having been in the Niagara area, so had nothing to do with this cabin.
Still cool.
This storm moved towards the right, towing the rain with it. The rain was falling on the other shore.
