I am so sad, MLQC is shutting down

I've played it briefly during the pandemic, and the story was very great (although I do think it is a bit over the top lol). Gavin was my favorite alongside Kiro. The game wasn't the best but good enough for players like me to like and get attached to the characters

It was very obvious that it wouldn't get as much money as it did before LADS. But to the point of closing down? That was a surprise. I hope my fellow players can grieve, because I've been there many times 🫂

In addition, details about two new characters who play key roles in the story of My Beloved Star are being revealed for the first time!

Introducing Pluto and Lunatys, Who Hate the Princes?!

To fulfill your role as Epilogia, the king’s oracle, you must guide the princes and choose who will wear the crown to become King of the Universe. However, there are forces conspiring against you: the mysterious Pluto, the Dark Sentinel, and Lunatys, the Moon’s Satellite.

Using the power of the darkest part of the human heart, they have stolen away the crown of the King of the Universe for their own ends.  But that can only lead to the end of everything! Only by getting closer to the princes can their reasons be understood.

Dark Fantasy Visual Novel: Knight Case Files to Release November 27!

Hyokan Studios is proud to announce the release of the ornately retro dark fantasy visual novel Knight Case Files on Steam on November 27th, 2025.

“Coming back to life was meant to be a fairy tale, but a few knew the truth.”

This title is set in an alternate 19th-century kingdom, and this fantastical procedural story follows Wilhelm, a rookie knight in service of the Phoenix Kingdom, as he unravels and confronts a necromantic conspiracy.

Knight Case Files is a creation by solo developer Shierin and offers both Japanese and English language options. It currently has a demo available on Steam and features partial voice acting in Japanese.

STORY

In the Phoenix Kingdom, there is a man known as the Corpse Killer.

A duke attempted to usurp the country using an imposter of his daughter. A necromancer who once warred with the Phoenix Clan lurks in the shadows.

Wilhelm, a new Knight of the Royal Guard, becomes entwined with investigations into the forces working to oppose king and country. He is assigned to the personal guard of Master Alchemist Topherf, a descendant of the Serpent Clan.

Together, they must understand the history of the Phoenix Kingdom, two immortal races, and the body of a young duchess kept suspended at the moment of her death.

Wherever the pair go, a deep fate awaits them…

  Set in a 19th-century-inspired low fantasy world, the history of the world has been shaped by two ancient tribes: the Phoenix Clan, whose members die and resurrect from the ashes every 500 years, and the Serpent Clan, who attained immortality through the use of forbidden magic and science. The Serpents once used the bodies of the other races, including those of Phoenixes, in their immortality research. The Phoenixes retaliated against those crimes, and the kingdom’s history still rings with the echoes of their war.

• Bad Ends are Not the End
  Reaching an unfortunate ending is not a failure in this game, but a thread in the grand narrative. Looking behind the curtain, or from the eyes of the story’s mastermind, a bad ending still reveals a truth about the world. These explorations of the world span over 10,000 words. Using the information found behind the bad endings, you can find the path to the golden ending and understand the needs of all the characters.

  Bad ends offer the chance to loop back into the normal game, allowing you to focus on the story without going through tedious replays.

  Inspired by fairy tales, the supporting cast range from a newly-reborn immortal and the twisted Phoenix obsessed with him, the gender-bending alchemist with secrets to spare, and the innocently cruel girl finally free to explore the world. Every character of the story has a deep backstory and is entwined in complex webs of relationships that colour every word they say. The characters’ inner lives are revealed through the story, the bonus unlockable tips, and the talented cast of voice actors.
