Nancy has been #SF's representative over 1/2 my life & for the entire lives of many others of you here.

There will be those among you who will want to make snarky remarks about it being "about time" that she retired & those who will mock her time in service but IMO she deserves greater respect than that & should be honored for her contributions to our community over the past 38 yrs.

Her resignation signals a generational shift in the #DemocraticParty just as her election did in 1987 when the #JohnBurton machine ran everything political in SF & in CA.

With Mamdani's election as mayor in NYC & Nancy's resignation from office in SF, 2026 is setting up to become a very interesting year politically for the #Democrats.
