Armita Garawand, a 16-year-old Kurdish girl (from Kermanshah), who fell into a coma on October 1 after being physically assaulted by the morality police on the Tehran subway for refusing to wear a hijab, is being treated under heavy security at Fajr Hospital, affiliated with Tehran's Military University of Medical Sciences.
Her family is currently unable to visit Armita due to the heavy presence of repressive forces at Fajr Hospital.
A journalist who was at the scene to cover the story was immediately arrested by the repressive forces and released after the incident was reported in the media.
According to the latest information leaked to the public, Armita Garawand's state of consciousness has not changed. The Fajr Hospital, especially the intensive care unit, is under heavy security.
Armita Garawand, ein 16-jähriges kurdisches Mädchen (aus Kermanshah), fiel am 1. Oktober ins Koma, nachdem sie in der Teheraner U-Bahn von der Sittenpolizei physisch angegriffen worden war, weil sie sich geweigert hatte, einen Hijab zu tragen, und wird im Fajr-Krankenhaus, das der Teheraner Militäruniversität für Medizinische Wissenschaften angegliedert ist, unter strengen Sicherheitsvorkehrungen behandelt.
Ihre Familie ist derzeit nicht in der Lage, Armita aufgrund der starken Präsenz von Repressionskräften im Fajar-Krankenhaus zu besuchen.
Ein Journalist, der zur Berichterstattung vor Ort war, wurde sofort von den Repressionskräften festgenommen und nach Bekanntwerden des Vorfalls in den Medien wieder auf freien Fuß gesetzt.
Nach letzten Informationen, die an die Öffentlichkeit gelangten, hat sich der Bewusstseinszustand von Armita Garawand nicht verändert. Das Fajr-Krankenhaus, insbesondere die Intensivstation, wird streng bewacht.

#JinJiyanAzadi (Woman, Life, Freedom): The Genealogy of a Slogan
The revolutionary uprising associated with the slogan “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” (“Woman, Life, Freedom”) began in Iran almost six months ago, on September 16, 2022, when the morality police of the Islamic Republic murdered a 22-year-old Kurdish woman, Jina (Mahsa) Amini. Since then, the whole country has been on fire. This feminist revolution is not simply a response to compulsory hijab; it aims to put an end to 44 years of gender apartheid, patriarchy, military dictatorship, neoliberalism, nationalism, and Islamist theocracy. Like the so-called Arab Spring, the Jin, Jiyan, Azadi movement demands “the fall of the regime” with an eye toward systemic social change.
