On #WorldQuantumDay: ARQUE Systems, a spin-off from FZJ and @rwthaachenuniversity, is working on scalable quantum chips. ⚛️

Their approach combines semiconductor-based qubits with a patented process that moves electrons across the chip. This allows qubits to be entangled even over longer distances.

A first system is currently being set up at the @fzj_jsc as part of #JUNIQ.

We are getting another #QuantumComputer. 💻🌌 @fzj_jsc has purchased a 5-qubit #quantum system from IQM Quantum Computers. The IQM Spark quantum computer is scheduled to go into operation in July 2024 as part of Jülich’s #JUNIQ quantum computing infrastructure and will be connected to JSC’s classical #supercomputers. This gives researchers the opportunity to investigate how calculations on classical supercomputers can be accelerated by quantum computers.

Summer School 2023

We welcome 24 PhD students from the field of #quantumcomputing to the Spring School on "Quantum Information Processing" hosted by the Jülich #Supercomputing Centre. The participants join us to make use of the cloud-programming platform of the Jülich UNified Infrastructure for #Quantum computing (#JUNIQ). It focuses on hands-on experiences in developing and implementing algorithms on both gate-based devices and quantum annealers. It takes place under the umbrella of the #JulichSummerAcademy.
