Met this fella in Petaluma, California, walking up to the top of Hayes Lane. Look at that lichen-covered branch! (If you are ever in the area, visit that park, it has a fabulous view of the area! And a great place to watch vultures soar and kites hunt.)

A reminder that if my delving into old photos is a nuisance, you can just block #jpegsFolders.

One day, I was walking a woodland trail and found myself following a hermit thrush, who just kept trucking along the path, ignoring me.

One rainy day in northern California. :)

As the storm continued my way. It really was amazing.

The sky really lit up at times.

This was quite a while ago and the image was taken the old fashioned way: no fancy lightning sensor, just frequent strikes, so planning long exposures to capture a few. :)

This is facing Toronto, to the west of me. And that strike area has to be the CN Tower because on this night, there were repeated strikes to the same area. It was a lighting storm that lasted a long time. It slowly came my way, went over my building and continued east. Amazing.

I don't know much about military ships, but I'm guessing that this and the previous image are us flying over a military shipyard.

From the air, these look like toy ships.
