Every Sunday I look back at the preceding week in kpop and pick out the music video or performance I liked best. This week I have chosen
Minseo covering a Yerin Baek’s 2019 song “0310”.

If by “kpop” we mean “South Korean idol pop”, Minseo is kpop adjacent rather than kpop proper. Although she underwent idol training and was at one point considered as a possible GFriend member, she turned away from the idol route to become a solo artist.
That decision was a good one. She has the kind of voice that shouldn’t be drowned in a group, and her whole manner is more suited that of to individual performance.
