The 2009 #IranElection on Twitter was a practice run for what would happen during the Arab Spring, in terms of breaking through to the outside world with direct communication of breaking events, analysis, and mutual aid. I have no idea what that looks like now in our broken online environment.
Remember (who am I kidding, you do not remember) the 1995 Iraqi Presidential Referendum where Saddam did the classic thing of 'only one name on the ballot lolol guess who'? Remember the 2009 #IranElection uprising by comparison, one of the things that *made* International Breaking Politics Twitter?
