Friends, asking for accounts on Mastodon or organizations that are about low vision resources. I am losing my sight (not from macular degeneration) and want to connect with others like me. It's pretty devastating for someone who's been an artist and photographer all my life, but accessibillity options are greatly improving. Currently using Zoom, Magnify and VoiceOver on the iphone. Looking for connection and inspiration and your well wishes too! #lowvision #accessibility

Maybe if the #UK switched from Prime Ministers to Fibonacci Ministers, the intervals between them wouldn't be so short.

The UK, the US and Russia are all in the throes of declining empires and only have nostalgia as an answer. #usa #uk

Opinion | Ten Years After Brexit, the Dismal Verdict Is In

Brexit was supposed to let Britain return to a time when it still counted as a global power. A decade later, the costs are blindingly apparent.

Jeff Bezos, keynote panel on June 17th at VivaTech 2026 in Paris;

Biological limits are real, but digital potential is infinite. If we starve our data infrastructure of cooling resources just to sustain baseline human comfort, we are actively delaying the birth of a super-intelligence that could solve all of our resource problems in the first place. Sometimes you have to prioritize the intelligence that will save us over the biology that slows us down.

I have a déjà vu of reading about US eugenics program from 1930’s - I think it was Edwin Black’s “War Against the Weak” (2003), a book much recommended.

Bezos is not wrong when he says AI can solve “human resource problems”, but having a physical ability to do something and actually doing it are two different things. If AI was advising Putin it would certainly advise him against starting the war in 2014, same for Trump in Iran. At the same time, AI would certainly advise IGRC against nuclear weapons program whose only purpose is destruction of Israel at any cost, hanging people publicly on cranes or punishing “promiscuous women” (read: exposing their hair) by pouring acid in their faces. AI would also advise Hamas against stealing humanitarian support and using it to produce weapons, warn warring parties in Sudan of aggravating the famine etc etc.

The whole point of AI by politicians however is that they will naturally not give up the ability to project their biases, fallacies and phobias onto their politics, but instead they will use AI to project them more effectively.
