#FiberArtCamp I spent #WIPWednesday casting on a #MetropolisSweater, which is a free, #SizeInclusive pattern on Ravelry by Tanis Lavallee (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/metropolis-3), using this incredible, colorful tweedy yarn by Schulana from Knit Knit Berlin. I’m hoping that the simple #knitting pattern will really allow this classic yet fun yarn to shine.

I got to start on this project yesterday because I finally purchased my first set of #InterchangeableNeedles! I got the ergonomic addiClick Novel Lace long since they were the only metal Addi set I could find in Berlin.

What could possibly be cozier than a simple, chunky sweater with generous ribbing and a turtleneck that dreams are made of!? I fell in love with this colourway and knew I wanted something simple yet spectacular to let it shine in a garment. If you need me, I’ll be the one walking around on perfect fall days snug as a bug in a rug in my ultimate chunky sweater!

@lostletters @knitting I like the KnitPicks wooden #interchangeableneedles. The needles are pretty secure when on the cord and I just love the feel of it, though I admit wood is my go-to for knitting needles. I believe KnitPicks also has metal interchangeable needles - IIRC they're made of nickel but I'm not 100% on that

Firstly, #InterchangeableNeedles rock - my muscles tire easily & my elbows don't have to bear the weight of the project.
I really like KnitPro (am in the UK) as they have tips in a good range of materials (laminated birch, bamboo, slick metal, carbon fibre) which all fit the cables.
Downsides: the cable doesn't swivel where it joins the tip (I think Chiaogoo do), the cables sometimes pop out of the screw ends (this might happen with other brands).

For #FiberArtCamp #ToolTuesday, I’d actually love opinions on which #InterchangeableNeedles people prefer for #knitting. I finally feel comfortable investing in a set after using my grandmother’s plastic needles for decades. The plastic needles definitely work, but I’ve since upgraded some circulars to Addi needles, which are so much better for me. Everyone loves Chiaogoo and HiyaHiya, but I really can’t use sharp needles as I’ll poke a hole through my right index finger. I’ve been told by various yarn shops in Europe that Knitter’s Pride (US) / Knit Pro (EU) are extremely popular in Europe, so that adds another contender into the ring. I never knit below fingering weight yarn, and I’ve been on a garment kick lately, so I don’t need sets that are optimized for tiny, lace knitting. @knitting

Talk to me about swivel interchangeable needles. If you use them and like them, what is it about them you like? And what, exactly, swivels? I've never used them and am curious.
