Okay, so I can't sleep; and I'm addressing this by watching YouTube videos about tow truck drivers hooking big heavy things up to tow trucks. (Maybe not the wisest course, but it's what I've been doing.) Almost every time when the big heavy things need towing because they unintendedly smashed into other big heavy things, there's a "did the occupants need new pants?" joke (unless the occupants were seriously injured; in which case there's generally an appropriately grisly sense of decency & respect).

But I've never known of anyone, outside of such jokes, to have actually peed or pooped their pants due to extreme startlement or fear. (Me personally, I am never more clenched than when afraid for my life.)

So, time for a poll: I, or someone I know, or an anonymous "friend," have, when violently startled &/or deeply afraid:
