Frumpy was een progressieve rockband uit Hamburg, die 1970–1972 en 1990–1995 met elkaar optrok. De Duitse pers roemde hen in de korte tijd dat ze speelden als de beste Duitse rockband van hun tijd en zangeres Inga Rumpf als het grootste zangtalent van de toenmalige Duitse rockscène.

Atlantis - Friends (Live 1975)
Atlantis was founded in the late summer of 1972 by Inga Rumpf (vocals), Jean-Jacques Kravetz (keyboard) and Karl-Heinz Schott (bass). These musicians previously played with the band Frumpy . The founding cast also included guitarist Frank Diez and drummer Curt Cress (formerly with the band Emergency). After a few live performances in Germany, the studio of Island Records in London produced the first LP, which was particularly well received in the USA, where Rumpf's blues-oriented voice was appreciated. Diez and Cress left the band after the recordings. George Meier joined Atlantis as guitarist and Udo Lindenberg as drummer for a four-week tour through England with Procol Harum and Traffic . In 1975 a tour took place through the USA (mostly as the opening act for Lynyrd Skynyrd ). The same year, on the peak of the career Atlantis released the double album "Live", recorded at the "Fabrik" in Inga's hometown Hamburg.
