#Debian is still my favorite.

I dabbled in RH 4.0 briefly in 1997 thanks to an #Infomagic Linux CD pack I got from a bookstore in Round Rock, TX, but couldn't get full native resolution on my laptop, so I went back to Windows 95 OSR2 for three more years.

Then I got a RH 6.2 boxed set in 2000, and it was just perfect. I used that for a good few months.

Then I heard about Debian 2.2 "Potato" in late 2000, and a friend at the Linux users' group burned me a copy of the CDs.

I was excited to get a newer Linux than RH 6.2 (mid-August 2000 vs. early April 2000), but I was surprised to see the versions of everything in debian was... OLDER?!? DEBIAAAANNN!!!!! ๐Ÿคฃ

Ran Debian until Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake. I think I tried Fedora Core 2 when it came out in 2004, but it was kinda slow on my Pentium 1.

In 2008, I defected to the fruity side of the world and loved being a Mac OS X user. I left MacOS in 2019 when I accidentally baptized my beloved Macbook Air in tea. Left iOS for the last time (so far) the next year.

I supported RHEL doing infosec and sysadmin work until 2013 when the I.T. world belched me out like No-Face purging a night's excesses.

Now I get to run Linux and occasional BSDs just for the freedom and personal enrichment/enjoyment of it. :D

Hands up if you, in the 90s, took regular trips to your PC or bookstore to score these bad boys. Wish I kept them! #infomagic #linux

Those were interesting times. Nostalgia ;)
