Will there also be singing?

There was sunlight today

A name is only ink

It smells like October today.

Also I write in ink, so this counts as an #Inktober post. Yes.

A pocketful of loose words. Sometimes it's just fun to play with the way things sound.

I still recall the light,
the warm bronze kiss of noon
on carefree summer skin
my memories still taste.
But now that place is gone,
lost to the endless world,
but someplace new awaits
our time-worn hands to build
upon the ruin.

A heart is an expanse
in which stars burn and die.
Perhaps it sounds dark, but
how can so much light
carry such weight?

We were cut from the same cloth
But sewn into different clothes,
And now you shimmer
Afar as white starlight,
As I languish in laundry
Awash with wist.
But the scent of summer nights
Still clings to us both.

You do remember,
Don’t you?

I paint silver stars
On a ceiling so high
As this world tries to knock
All the light from the sky
Each new one still sparkles
With bright hopeful les
In darkness, bright wishes
We’ll never let die
