@jemmesedi Yikes! I remember you mentioning the credible abuse claims against 143 Entertainment with respect to the underage Madein member. I read the statement from the boycott supporters, and it was very articulate and convincing. It seems like this company is truly shit, not only tolerating sexual abuse, but failing to pay wages and breaking other laws related to entertainment practices.

@jemmesedi I think a targeted boycott like this, against a very egregious offender, makes a statement to the entertainment agencies that fans care about the treatment of the idols and other workers in the industry. I am going to participate, which is not going to hurt me too much, since I only have 2 Madein songs in my playlists.

I think it's important to have these conversations. Every person has to decide where to draw their own lines.

@jemmesedi As noted previously, I have qualms about listening to K-pop at all, but now I'm addicted 😂 And I like to think the fact that I listen to lots of other music, and support smaller artists as well balances it out.

Honestly in our modern economy we need to think every time we fill our gas tank at Chevron, eat at Chick Fil A or shop at Target - how are we contributing to discrimination or the destruction of the rainforest

@jemmesedi @girlbandgeek @Erzbet Lol .. the addiction is real! But I swear I'm not in league and those cartels are taking all my time/attention/money too! 😂

I agree about being thoughtful, aware and widely read about what's going on in the industry and trying to act ethically where possible. The Madein boycott seems well justified and reasonable, tho I do think sometimes the screeching protests on the birdapp can do little to make change and just damage young artists' mental health.

I agree with the comments about "shades of grey" and some of the "screeching protests" on Xitter.

Leaving aside the ethical question of MADEIN for a moment, I'm doubly fed up because on the one hand I was growing to like MADEIN's music, and on the other I used to love watching Mashiro and Yeseo in Kep1er before they were transferred to MADEIN:

The whole way Kep1er seemed to teeter on the edge of disbandment for ages, the girls moving and the MADEIN mess is so shady and sad.

I hope Klap take better care of them and the MADEIN girls get to continue safely too.
