MoxDay 5 - Icy Strait Point - Hoonah, AK
My time on shore started with a gondola ride 1,300 feet up a mountain. More adventurous people descend via the mile-long zip line. Instead I opted for a tram tour through the forest before taking the gondola back down. It's too bad it was so foggy because I'm sure there's a great view from up there.
A second gondola takes people to the area where the shops, restaurants, and beach are, but the line was long and moving slowly, so I decided to walk, which turned out to be lucky. High up in a tree just off the trail near the water was a bald eagle nest with an eagle sitting on a nearby branch.
