…fascinating to see Simon Harris operate this beautiful German printing press from the early 1800s (it’s usually within the Wolverhampton School of Art). As part of Ikon’s exhibition Start the Press! (9 February – 21 April 2024), eight West Midlands printmakers present a Printmaking Studio.
We also nipped in to the #IKONgallery to catch Ashokkumar D Mistry’s “Don't Stare” portraits which … we did indeed stare at! Unnerving and fascinating (and gone after today).
Yesterday we went to #TheExchange and #IkonGallery to see #fokawolf ’s “Why Are We Stuck in Hospital?” which draws attention to the 2000 people with a learning disability/autism unnecessarily locked up in hospital. I had no idea. #birmingam
Earlier today we went to see #ikongallery ’s current show “HORROR IN THE MODERNIST BLOCK”. We found it a bit challenging (not a bad thing). 1/2#birmingham
