"The World Beyond the Veil" Contributor Application
It's no mystery that for many transgender people, horror can occupy a special place in our hearts. It's no mystery that being trans can be an incredibly alienating experience; faced with a hostile society, rejections from loved ones, and the strangeness of existing in a body that feels wrong, it's not hard to find ourselves at home in the horror genre. Whether you identify more with the good guy just trying to make it to the end, or see yourself reflected in the "other" of horror monsters, we want to see your take on horror through a transmasculine lens.
In an increasingly stressful world, the World Beyond the Veil looks to explore stories of transmasculine power through the horror genre. While the last zine focused on joy and escape, this zine seeks to shine a light on our power and strength even in a world where the light may seem fleeting. Whether it's about the monster finding comfort in their strangeness or the hero saving the day from a hostile attacker, we want to see your transgressive horror takes.
