The final Hogue report was a missed opportunity to tackle transnational repression

Canada’s commission on foreign interference did not adequately address the problems faced by diaspora communities

The Globe and Mail
FYI. These are the paragraphs on alleged foreign interference in Poilievre's leadership race from the all-party NSICOP report that are currently being discussed at the Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference – Sept 20, 2024

@gemelliz This was in the NSICOP report in June.
Redacted footnotes 221 & 222 both refer to 2022, the year of Poilievre's leadership race..
*Note the report still says "alleged".*

When asked at the #HogueCommission today if the CPC had looked into these allegations, CPC exec dir Mike Crase said:
"We're confident in our process & the 100s of thousands of people who voted to elect our leader."
So I guess that's a no.
@mamiyaman @npilon

I think most Canadians would be surprised to learn that
"individuals who are not Canadian citizens - and therefore cannot vote in elections at any level of government in Canada - can still vote in a party nomination process as long as they are party members. In some instances, the membership fee is paid for, or reimbursed by, a hostile state actor."
