Another try at #HandTinting
The main different from the previous attempts is penciling the tips of trees post-wash, so they stay fine.
I should try this on an enlargement instead of a tiny contact print.
And maybe other coloring types (like plain old markers? this is with #watercolor pencils).

All set for another go at #HandTinting.
The Ilfort matt(e) paper I'm using does *not* want to lie flat, so I'm recycling a trick I used for cyanotypes, clamping the negative down to the paper between a piece of plywood and plexiglass.
Also figured out that if you want to time a half-second, you can still say "one Mississippi" and end the exposure on the "M". (Well maybe that's more like 0.3sec? Anyway, it was about right).
#DarkRoom
Tried hand tinting some photo prints. I used watercolor pencils.
In the first/left version I tried drawing pretty precisely, in the right/second version I went for a more cartoony solid-fill look. I think the 2nd way works better.
I think this works best with images that have clear boundaries. So trees will always be tricky.
These were done on #KodakBrownie contact prints, to 6x9cm; on an enlargement, obviously, it'd be a little easier to color precisely.
Also, I wonder if markers might actually work just as well or better?
