A number of you asked, what is a haikoot? So, I made that word up when I was starting out on the Fediverse with a Mastodon account. Since posts there are called “toots” and as my haiku follow rules i was taught as a youngster (which some Snooty People poopoo on), i coined my own word to describe what I was doing.
A #Haikoot is 5-7-5 syllables, tries to paint a mental image, and tries to have a twist ending. That’s it. Simple, yet challenging to really nail one.
