I’ll be at C2E2 again this year, along with other members of the HWA at booth WB-28 in the Writers Block area. On Saturday I’ll be part of the “Fear Not” panel. Doing a great job in her first time as moderator was Grace Daly.

Friday is drawing to a close. Chatted with a lot of interesting people—some of whom almost sounded embarrassed that they write. I was reminded of myself in my twenties, when getting published seemed like an impossible pipe dream. You have to keep plugging away and believe it will happen. 🤘🏼

The Horror Writers Association’s Chicagoland Chapter usually meets online, but yesterday we held our meeting in person. This was seemingly done in an effort to prove to ourselves that we all exist in the physical world. Did I point out to them that the members who didn’t show up might actually be AI bots? Or that none of this matters anyway, because we’re all captives in a #Simulation milking us of our life-force? No, I did not. Everyone I’ve met in the #HWAChicagolandChapter is a genuinely nice person, so I must keep these dark concerns to myself. But you can see it in my eyes. That smile hides the horrible Knowing of reality’s true nature (along with the mild disappointment of no snacks being served). Thanks to #GhoulishMortals in St. Charles for hosting.
