Mastodon Verification on WordPress.com Yeah, we're still dead, but I decided to make an "official" social media account because reasons. Our Twitter got banhammered a few years ago because that place was retarded even before the Dank Prince of Hot-Air bought it and we're not going back there. So, we're going to be on the Fediverse going forward - just like Wordpress. Hmm, that's new. But how are they appearing there? The (first) Verification-URL of accounts shown on lists of accounts (Follower, Following) directly on Mastodon. First I thought, that's part of the update to 4.1.2. But I see it only on #MastodonSocial, not other instances with the same version. What's going on?

If you're on Squarespace and tinkering with Mastodon to get the green check (the things we do for a pixel!), here's how I did it:

1) In Mastodon's Edit profile screen, copy the Verification code.
2) In Squarespace's backend go to Settings>Advanced>Code Injection, then hit paste.
3) Return to Mastodon's Edit profile screen, clear out your website's url and hit save.
4) Re-enter your website.

Voila! That worked for me. Hope it helps you.

I made a @keyoxide profile with identity proofs. More challenging than #Keybase BUT #Keyoxide isn't abandoware. If you have a GPG key, this is a breeze.

I was just stalking Simon's profile and the #GitHub #greencheck thing has fallen off their profile, no green any more at the moment - so that whole <a href ... probably does now need to be there, maybe something changed on the mastodon server for how it parses them - in any case, if you want to do the whole awesome GitHub pages plus redirect thing, then this seems to be working for it at the moment:
