Mom's cataracts doctor is a really wonderful Portuguese man. He understands immigrants & was very kind to my Mom. Dr. Pedago is one of the best doctors we have encountered in many years. Mom said - He has kind eyes/excellent human energy. I'm very grateful that we got him with a referral. I like to give credit, when it's truly due, to medical professionals, who treat their immigrant patients well. I notice it & also notice when some doctors have displayed bigoted behaviours towards immigrants (who aren't fully literate, like Mom). Real glad that I had no reasons to draw out my defensive tiger daughter claws, today ๐Ÿฏ

*Avoid Victoria Eye Clinic (it's horrible) if possible. Ask for referral to Dr. Pedago, if you need cataracts.*

@gemelliz No doubt helped along by #DougFord's stinginess as he cuts fees for virtual visits from $37 to $20. It's no wonder doctors are leaving #GoodDoctors - if they get just half of the $69 Maple charges for a virtual visit (your credit card, not your #OHIP card), they're way better off. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/mallorytown-good-doctors-clinic-closing-virtual-care-fees-1.6715407 #onpoli

@gemelliz Meanwhile the province has slashed rates paid to #Ontario doctors for virtual visits, forcing some groups like #GoodDoctors to end virtual visits because they can't attract M.D.'s. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/mallorytown-good-doctors-clinic-closing-virtual-care-fees-1.6715407
