I'm an evacuee for #GoldMountainFire. I saw its start at .1acre. We were given the leave immediately order 2:50 later as firefighters raced to protect our neighborhood.
I watched it spread so fast, with a sinking feeling.

I saw its beginning, at .1acre. I saw it turn the corner, climb the cliffs and drop down them. I saw it race along until it was consuming the last shelf above our neighborhood. We got the order 2:50 after its start.
Today at noon it was 570 acres. Not even 12 hours after, it's now 5200 acres. Winds gusting to 50, 11% humidity.
We are at the point in finding out how unforgiving Mother Nature is when we abuse her.
