Today, the Supervisor, Wojciech Wiewiórowski, joined the panel on “Developing Mechanisms for Cooperation and Collaboration among DPAs and Stakeholders” at the Closed Session of the 47th Global Privacy Assembly in Seoul.
In his intervention, he stressed the need for privacy rules to be applied coherently within the growing digital regulatory framework.
"A Digital Clearinghouse 2.0 could offer a flexible yet structured forum for EU authorities across different fields to collaborate, not only aligning policies and priorities, but also enabling legal avenues for joint investigations” - said the EDPS.

At the 47th Global Privacy Assembly, @Supervisor Wojciech Wiewiorowski had the honour of presenting the 5th edition of the Giovanni Buttarelli Award to Beatriz de Anchorena.
This moving moment was an opportunity for the EDPS to pay tribute to the memory of Giovanni Buttarelli, former EDPS, whose outstanding contribution and exceptional dedication to privacy and data protection continue to inspire the global community.
It was also a chance to recognise the remarkable achievements of Beatriz de Anchorena, Head of the Argentinian Data Protection Authority, especially her leadership in the framework of the Global Privacy Assembly and her historic role as the first Chair of the Consultative Committee of #Convention108 from outside the Council of Europe.
Her recognition underlines the global vocation of Convention 108 and the urgent need for the swift entry into force of the Modernised Convention 108.
