Just had a fantastic wee day trip to Gigha! ☀️ Hired e-bikes from Gigha Bikes & Boats (shoutout to the super helpful Craig!) and explored the whole island. 🚴‍♀️💨 The Wee Isle Cafe was the perfect pit stop - seriously, the ice cream was out of this world! 🍦 Highly recommend a visit if you're looking for stunning scenery. And no visit to an island is complete without a visit to a graveyard Kilchattan #Gigha #Scotland #IsleOfGigha #Ebike #Travel #IceCream #weeislecafe #Kilchattan

Carragh An Tarbet, the Druid's Stone, Giant’s Tooth or Hanging Stone, at the northern end of the Isle of Gigha in the west of Scotland. The stone is about 7 feet high. Thom speculates this was part of a prehistoric lunar observatory on the island.

More fantastic views of the ‘paps’ (boobs) of #Jura from this stone at Tarbert (#Gigha) which has a natural cleft. It was investigated for alignments by Alexander Thom. Photos by our member David Hoyle, who has also created an amazing #archaeoastronomy horizon viewing app which is linked from our pages. Standing stones on the isle of #Gigha This one has been moved and re-erected since #prehistoric times but it's interesting that the top of the stone is angled at about the same angle as the setting #moon. Also amazing views of #Jura. #StandingStoneSunday More on our page: https://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=58519
