The remarkably well-preserved Kildonan Dun, on the Kintyre coast north of Campbeltown. Roughly D-shaped, it would have served as a fortified farmstead when first built, the better part of two thousand years ago. The fragmentary but intriguing ruins of Saddell Abbey, on the east coast of the Kintyre peninsula north of Campbeltown. It was founded in 1140 and is home to a truly remarkable collection of late medieval grave slabs and effigies.
