There was a meme going around SM last week about this book being banned in the school named for the man so I googled to verify (it was not true) and then I got interested so I found the book on #thriftbooks also a little Dame Agatha

This story is making the rounds as "the book has been banned". That's not the case. Yes, the irony is palpable and that the book is being debated at all after being read as a yearly event apparently without incident is questionable at best.

But if you're going to be mad, be mad about the actual facts. They're troubling enough.

#GeorgeDawson middle school has effectively banned the book written by George Dawson, who the school is named after. The response from the School District is that the book hasn’t been “banned”, they are simply redacting a chapter they consider inappropriate. A rose by any other name. What would the Bible look like if it was redacted in the same fashion?
